Q:How do I manually downgrade the firmware to v.1.05 on my DCS-936L camera

A:

NOTE: These steps will need to be done from a Wireless PC/Laptop, it will not work from a smartphone or tablet.






Step 1: Download this  firmware file for your DCS-936L from this link - ftp://ftp.dlink.ca/PRODUCTS/DCS-936L/DCS-936L_REVA_FIRMWARE_1.05.BIN



Step 2: Connect to the wi-fi network of your camera. The wi-fi name and password of the camera can be found on the bottom of the camera.

Step 3: After connecting to the wi-fi network of the DCS-936L, open up a browser and log into the camera with http://10.255.255.1







Step 4: You will be prompted to enter the username and password. By default the username is admin and there is no password. If you did not reset the camera, the username will be admin and you will need to use the password you had created during the setup.




Step 5: Click on Maintenance  on the top and then Firmware Upgrade on the left side



- Click on Browse under Firmware upgrade, select the firmware file you downloaded and then, click Upload





Step 6: After the firmware downgrade is complete, follow this guide to reset the camera -  How do I reset my camera to factory settings?



Step 7: After the reset it complete, power cycle the camera. (Turn it off for 1 minute and power it back on)
