Q:How do I set up and install my mydlink camera?

Important Note: The first time setup requires an Ethernet Connection from the camera to the router
Choose your desired installation type:
Wired-You are wanting to connect the camera WIRED to your router
Wireless- You are wanting to connect the camera WIRELESS to your router
Note: Your camera must have wireless capabilities to use it wireless.
Note: You cannot configure your camera to connect using both Wired and Wireless. Only ONE selection can be made.
Wired
Step 1: Connect your mydlink camera to your broadband router with an Ethernet cable
Step 2: Power on your camera
Step 3: Download and launch the install wizard for your camera from
http://www.mydlink.com/support
Step 4: Go through install Wizard: (this example. uses the DCS-942L, however, all others should be the same or very similar)
Wizard 1: Choose Language and Click Start

Wizard 2: Accept the Terms and Conditions and click Next

Wizard 3: Setup Camera
Wizard 4: Select your camera and enter a new password for it
Wizard 5: Select the connection type Wired Cable and click next
Wizard 6: Add the camera to your existing mydlink account or create a new one.
Wizard 7: Setup is complete, Click Finish

Wireless
Step 1: Connect your mydlink camera to your broadband router with an Ethernet cable
Step 2: Power on your camera
Step 3: Download and launch the install wizard for your camera from

Step 4: Go through install Wizard: (this ex. uses the DCS-942L, however, all others should be the same or very similar)
Wizard 1: Choose Language and Click Start

Wizard 2: Accept the Terms and Conditions and click Next

Wizard 3: Setup Camera
Wizard 4: Select your camera and enter a new password for it
Wizard 5: Select the connection type Wireless by Selecting a Wireless Network
Select your wireless network from the Wireless Network List and enter your Wireless Security Password (if applicable)

Unplug the Ethernet Cable from the back of the Camera
The LED on your camera should stay GREEN and your camera is now connected Wireless.
Note: If the LED turns and remains RED, you may have entered an incorrect wireless password. You will need to connect the cable back with an Ethernet cable to make changes to your settings.

Wizard 6: Add the camera to your existing mydlink account or create a new one.
Wizard 7: Setup is complete, Click Finish
