    2. If you are having problems using your VoIP device with your D-Link router, please check/try the following:


      1. Ensure your router is running the latest firmware.

      2. Disable the SIP ALG feature on your router


      Most D-Link routers have a feature that will help VoIP devices work behind a router, however in some rare cases, this causes problems with the VoIP service or device.


      Step 1: In your web browser, enter the IP address of your router into the address bar. The default IP is 192.168.0.1

      Step 2: At the router login page, the default username is admin and there is no password. Click Log in to enter the web configuration for the device. 



      Note: If you changed the username/password for the router login page and have forgot it, you will need to factory reset the router. Please follow this guide to reset your router - How do I reset my router?


      Step 3: Click on the Advanced tab at the top and then click on Firewall Settings on the left-hand side.

      Step 4: Scroll down to the the Application Level Gateway (ALG) Configuration section and uncheck SIP



      Click Save Settings


      Note: If you are still having problems with your VoIP device, please contact the device manufacturer or your VoIP Provider to confirm if any special settings need to be made on the device (or router) to make it work properly.
