      DHP-306AV/307AV Setup


      Important Note: In order to create a Powerline network, a minimum of TWO powerline devices is required.




      LEDS




      Power LED Status: 


      Solid: The device is receiving electrical power.


      Blinking:  Indicates that the device is setting itself up after reset or when the security button was pressed or power saving mode enabled.


      Off: The device is not receiving electrical power.


      Powerline LED Status: 


      Solid: The device is connected to a Powerline network.

      Blinking: The device is transmitting data

      Off: The device has not found any other compatible Powerline devices using the same encryption key.


      Ethernet LED Status: 


      Solid: The Ethernet port is linked.

      Step 1: Plug in both adapters into a wall outlet. One of them should be in the same room as your router. 


      DO NOT plug any cables into the adapters yet.


      Note: Avoid using Power Bars or surge protectors as it could result in poor performance.


      Once plugged in, the Power LED and Powerline LED should be lit on both adapters.



      Note: If the Powerline LED does not light up:

      2. Improper wiring and/or circuit breakers can be the reason for this. Plug the adapters into another wall outlet.


      Step 2:  It is suggested to secure your PowerLine devices to prevent others from gaining access to your network.


      1. On one of the adapters, press and hold the Simple Connect Button for 2 seconds and then release it. The Power LED should start to flash On/Off


      2. Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Simple Connect Button on the 2nd adapter for 2 seconds and then release it. The Power LED should start to flash On/Off.


      Note: If the Power LED does not start to flash, reset both adapters and try again-  How do I reset my DHP-306/307AV adapters?


      After 15-30 seconds, the Power LEDs on both adapters should stop flashing and the adapters will be secure. The Power and Powerline LEDs should be both On.



      Step 3: Plug one of the adapters into your router/existing network. The Ethernet LED should light up.


      Step 4: Plug the other adapter into any ethernet enabled device (Computer, TV, Game Console etc..). The Ethernet LED should Light Up.



      Powerline LED Colors


      Green: The PowerLine link rate is faster than 80 Mbps.


      Amber: The PowerLine link rate is between 50 Mbps and 80 Mbps.


      Red: The PowerLine link rate is less than 50 Mbps.


      Note: Link rate will depend on link quality of electrical lines. Try different wall outlets if performance is not optimal.

      Step 2: Once boot up, The Power and Powerline LEDs should be lit.



      If the Powerline LED is Lit, Your Setup is complete. The DHP-P338AV is now connected to your existing PowerLine Network.


      If the Powerline LED is not lit, you will need to sync your DHP-P338AV with your existing PowerLine network


      Note: If your existing powerline network is NOT dlink, you will need to contact the manufacture for instructions how to add a new powerline device to the network.


      If using D-Link PowerLine devices:


      1. On any existing Powerline device, press and hold the Simple Connect Button for 2 seconds and then release it. The Power LED should start to flash On/Off



      2. Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Simple Connect Button on the DHP-P338AV for 2 seconds and then release it. The Power LED should start to flash On/Off. 



      After 15-30 seconds, the Power LEDs on both adapters should stop flashing and the adapters will be synced. The Powerline LED should now be Lit.


      Note: If the Powerline LED still does not light up, try re-locating the DHP-P338AV to another wall outlet or room.

      Step 4: Open your web browser and in your web browser address bar enter: http://dlinkap.local and press enter


      Step 5: You should be taken to the DHP-W310AV login page. The default username is Admin and there is no password.



      Note: If you have previously configured a password and have forgot it, you will need to factory reset the device.


      Press and hold the reset button located on the side of the DHP-W310AV for 5 seconds and release. The Lights should all go off and then come back on. The device is now Factory Reset.

      DHP-700AV/701AV


      Important Note: In order to create a Powerline network, a minimum of TWO powerline devices is required.







      LEDS



      Power LED Status:


      Solid: The device is receiving electrical power.

      Blinking: The device is setting itself up after reset or simple connect button was pressed or power saving mode enabled.

      Off: The device is not receiving electrical power.


      Powerline LED Status:


      Solid: The device is connected to a Powerline network.

      Off: The device has not found any other compatible Powerline devices using the same encryption key.


      Ethernet LED Status:


      Solid: The Ethernet port is linked.

      Off: There is no Ethernet connection.






      Step 1: Plug in both adapters into a wall outlet. One of them should be in the same room as your router.


      DO NOT plug any cables into the adapters yet.


      Note: Avoid using Power Bars or surge protectors as it could result in poor performance.


      Once plugged in, the Power LED and Powerline LED should be lit on both adapters.




      Note: If the Powerline LED does not light up:


      1. Reset both adapters -  How do I reset my DHP-700AV/701AV adapters?


      2. Improper wiring and/or circuit breakers can be the reason for this. Plug the adapters into another wall outlet.


      Step 2:  It is suggested to secure your PowerLine devices to prevent others from gaining access to your network.


      1. On one of the adapters, press and hold the Simple Connect Button for 2 seconds and then release it. The Power LED should start to flash On/Off


      2. Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Simple Connect Button on the 2nd adapter for 2 seconds and then release it. The Power LED should start to flash On/Off.


      Note: If the Power LED does not start to flash, reset both adapters and try again-  How do I reset my DHP-700AV/701AV adapters?


      After 15-30 seconds, the Power LEDs on both adapters should stop flashing and the adapters will be secure. The Power and Powerline LEDs should be both On.




      Step 3: Plug one of the adapters into your router/existing network. The Ethernet LED should light up.


      Step 4: Plug the other adapter into any ethernet enabled device (Computer, TV, Game Console etc..). The Ethernet LED should Light Up.




      Powerline LED Color


      Green: The Powerline link rate is best.

      Amber: The Powerline link rate is better.

      Red: The Powerline link rate is good.


      Note: Link rate will depend on link quality of electrical lines. Try different wall outlets if performance is not optimal.
